Paris, France Next Week!

Paris, France

I shall be leaving Houston, TX next week, May 6. Destination - Paris, France. It is at this point that the nervous anticipation of excitement really begins.
Definitely will be stopping in on the iconic Eiffel Tower, touring the Louvre, hopefully also the Orsay. In addition I have a couple of creepy sites on my list including the Père Lachaise Cemetery. Click the clink to see the amazing list of historic folks buried here, from Oscar Wilde to Jim Morrison.
My creepy side also wants to tour the catacombs, massive underground tombs beneath Paris, lined with the bones and skulls of millions of Parisians.

With luck the trip will take me to at least...
London (Stonehenge!)
Scotland (I'm Braveheart!)
Switzerland (Alpine hut to hut hiking!)
Germany (Mad King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein Castle!)
Italy (Art, Food, History!)
Romania (Poenari, the REAL Castle Dracula!)
Greece (Ruins!)
and Egypt (Pyramids!).

I really hope you will follow along and maybe I will meet a few of you on the road. Like Michael in Canterbury who mailed an invite to meet him. Thanks Michael.

Phantom Canyon Road, Colorado

Phantom Canyon Road, Colorado

One of the scariest, most beautiful, and certainly memorable drives I took on
the 14,000 mile USA road trip.
This tiny ribbon of dirt and gravel winds along stunning cliff sides above the
Phantom Canyon from Canon City to Cripple Creek, CO.
Enjoy the images, and let me apologize for their smaller size. Really disheartening
that
I somehow lost the original files, I believe due to the Asus netbook crashing on me.
Lucky for me Facebook hosted some of the images so I was able to save them to
share.

Me, a few friends, my daughter Lexi and a large group of her friends went camping

Topiary Garden, Houston, Texas

Last year we visited a pretty impressive free topiary garden on Buffalo Speedway in Huston, Texas. Here's a picture of my nephew Brecken enjoying the neat site which lies only a block or so north of Hwy. 59 South. Visit my photo collection for the complete album.

How Is Oliver The Great Pyrenees Dog?

You may remember that we rescued Oliver from dire circumstances, near death even. The Vet said he had the single worst case of worms he had ever seen. Worse, he had contracted distemper.

Every friend we had tried to brace us for the fact that he would not make it. Distemper would kill him. We chose good medicine, lots of love, and a positive attitude.

Oliver pulled through it but without any significant teeth. Seems to be a side effect. Beats death.

He has a great attitude, is an attractive people loving dog, and with no teeth he can ply rough with no possibility of an accidental nip.

Check out the video of him getting weird playing bite Alan's hand!

P.S. - That's poor, jealous, and doesn't play well with others Trixi barking in the background. We love her too!

Picasa Photo Hosting Seems Pretty Awesome!

Google has a photo hosting service that I am thinking of using. Hope you will check out the two albums I have added this morning.

If you go to the albums be sure to click on the 'Slideshow' tab above the images.
Amazing, huge photos on a black background makes them look pretty darn good.
And all for free.

If you have a Google e-mail account than you have a free photo hosting account at Picasa that will hold tens of thousands of images. For $20 a year you can go photo crazy!

You can click on the link bar above, the 'Photographs' tab will bring you right to the page.

Let me know what you think.

New Photo Presentation System - Check It Out!

I've been looking for a better and less time consuming method to host and present photos to you all. After all, pictures make the site much more interesting.

I am trying out a new system hosting the images at Smug Mug and hope you will give it a look.

There are currently two galleries on the site and MUCH MORE to come. I have included a collection of images from the Art Car Parade from last May in Houston, TX, and also some interesting shots of our visit to the famous Beer Can House in Houston. This man actually spent years covering his entire house with the old cans he had left after an evening of knocking back a few!

Click the link above in the link bar that says 'Photographs' and it will take you to the galleries.
There are many cool things you can do, different ways and sizes to view the images. I shall be adding MANY images of the 14,000 mile Western USA road trip in the coming days!
